Premier Division Round-up 11/9

A busy fixture list on Sunday in the Premier League saw the Royal Earl quickly return to form. They won 6-1 at home against Greenhill White Hart. Both Furniss and Leonard scored twice for the champions.

Sharrow United recorded another impressive win, this time a 4-0 home win against the Packhorse Inn.

Newly promoted High Noon just edged past the Handsworth Turf Tavern. Christopher Barnes scored twice for the High Noon at Ferrars Road to give them a good first win.

A single Tomas Kotylo goal gave Crookes a 1-0 away win against Mosborough A at Mosborough Miners Welfare.

Division One Round-up 11/9

Brunsmeer Abbey AJW had the result of the day at HSBC Sports Club, as they run out 8-2 winners against AFC Wadsley Bridge. Wainman, Sloane and Roberts all scored twice for Brunsmeer. Jack-in-a-Box sit top though, after a the 5-2 defeat of Beighton Magpies. David Gelsthorpe on the score-scheet again; this time with two goals to his name.

A sole goal from Nicky Crownshaw gave a the Intake Ball Inn a good away win against Arbourthorne EA B.

Arundel are still without a win since dropping down from the Premier Division. This time the grabbed a good point following a 2-2 draw away against HSBC.

Division Two Round-up 11/9

Norton Oaks A sit at the top of the fledgling table in Division Two. They beat Mosborough B 2-0, with the goals coming from Rich Gilham and an own goal.

An Adam Dickinson gave Hackenthorpe B an good start to the season, as they beat Heeley 3-1.

Rawson Spring sit in the second after their first couple of games since promotion. They beat Winn Gardens 2-0 at home. Jake Hampshire and Todd Jordan with the goals for the Rawson Spring.

An entertianing match at Reignhead Farm ended 2-2 between Hackenthorpe Villa and Ridgeway Athletic. Hill with two for the Villa and Charlesworth with two (one pen) for Ridgeway.

Division Three Round-up 11/9

League newcomers the Centre Spot made it three win out of three with another impressive win. This time it cames at the African Dream Team's expense, as they were downed 6-1 at the Carribean Sports Club. Matthew Hunter scored two to add to the seven he has already scored this season. John Higgins also scored an hat-trick in the match.

The Barrel Inn also continued their good early season form, as they beat FC Darnall 2-0 at Coleridge Road. James Hall and Paul Johnson with the goals for the Barrel.

An excellent game at the Carribean Sports Club ended 4-3 to Woodhouse Juniors, as they beat the African Dream Team. Andrew Gascoigne scored all four for the Woodhouse Juniors.

Goals from Wesley Hewitt and Kieron Rodgers gave the Carlton Social thier second win. They beat Staffordshire Arms 2-0.

Under 21 Division Round-up 11/9

In the Under 21 league a hat-trick from Conor Merrison helped Norton Oaks U21 to a comfortable 6-1 win against Greasebrough U21. The result comes as a confidnece boost for Norton Oaks after last weeks 7-1 loss to Dronfield Town U21.

Sharrow United U21 beat Mosborough U21 3-2 in  a close game at Parsons Cross Park. Abdullah Ahmad was on the score-sheet twice for Sharrow. Dronfield Athletic also beat Mosborough U21 with the same score at Graves Park.

Midweek Round-up 8/9

Premier Division

Mosborough failed to follow up their excellent result against the Arbourthorne, as they were downed 3-1 away against Handsworth Turf Tavern. Mosborough gave away two penalties in the game, which were converted by Lee Brunt and Russell Hobson.

Packhorse Inn edged out Crookes 2-1 at Thorncliffe Playing Fields. Luke Parkinson and Adam Simpson with the goals for Packhorse.


Division One

Only one game took place in Division One. This came at Parsons Cross Park between AFC Wadsley bridge and Intake Ball Inn. The game ended a 1-1 draw.


Division Two

Nathan Reid continued his good form from last season with a hat-trick, which helped Winn Gardens to 4-1 win over City Taxis. Division Three champions Heeley also won 4-1, against Mosborough B. Jordan Barton twice on the scoresheet for Heeley.


Division Three

Centre Spot made it six points out of six with a 12-1 win against Staffordshire Arms. Matthew Unter scored five of the goals with both Bobby Howard and Adam Clayton also registering hat-tricks.

The Barrel Inn drew 1-1 in a close match Norton Oaks B. Sean Flowers with the goal for the Barrel and Peter Hersee for Norton Oaks.

Notice to Secretary

Please note due to an error in the handbook the following are the contract for your division. Please send your teamsheet and opponents copy to the relevant Divisional Registrar by post no later than three days after the game. This can be either sent by post or email attachment.

Telephoning, texting or emailing results should be done no later than 3 o'clock on a Sunday (immediately after match on weekdays) to Paul Webster with result, goalscores (full name), with approximate time of goal scored and how it was scored. This should be done by both home and away sides.

Premier Division Round-up 4/9

The biggest surprise of the weekend came at the Mosborough Miner's Welfare, where Mosborough beat last seasons runner's up Arbourthorne EA A 5-0.  Matthew Ellis scored twice a resounding victory for Mosborough.

Goals from Preece, Mullooly and Graham gave Hackenthorpe A an equally impressive point against the Royal Earl, who were last years league and cup winners. The Royal Earl only dropped four points in a impressive season last time out.

Division One winners High Noon played a out a 1-1 draw with Crookes at Ferrars Road. Christopher Barnes scored for the High Noon and Michael Murphy for Crookes.

Greenhill White Hart were also promoted in the summer and started the season with a notable 3-0 home win over the Packhorse Inn. Flanagan, Beech and Rydal grabbed the goals for the hosts.
Goals from Christopher Purvey and Bjorn Taylor (pen) helped Sharrow United to a 2-1 win over the Handsworth Turf Tavern at Warminster Road.

Division One Round-up 4/9

David Gelsthorpe scored all four goals for the newly promoted Jack-in-a-Box as they announced their arrival in the First Division in style, with a 4-1 away win over the Intake Ball Inn.

Arundel ESC, who were relegated last season started the season with a good 3-3 draw with the Brunsmeer Abbey. The Abbey will be looking to build on last years thrid placed finish.

A single Liam Morris goal helped HSBC take all three points with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Arbourthorne EA B.

Goals from Bradley Spencer and Ashley Green gave Wadsley Bridge a 2-1 win over AFC Wadsley Bridge at Parsons Cross Park.

Division Two Round-up 4/9

A Timothy Council brace helped inspire last years third placed Penistone Church to an hardfought win over the City Taxis.The game finished 2-1 to Penistone.

Norton Oaks ran out impressive 5-2 winners at Reignhead Farm against the Hackenthorpe Villa. Coel Fulton grabbed two goals for Norton Oaks.

Rawson Spring won the battle between two of the newly promoted teams, as they won 4-1 against Mosborough B. James Middelton on the scoresheet for the Rawson Spring, as he hopes to continue his excellent scoring form from last season.

Division Three Round-up 4/9

Debutants Centre Spot secured their first win, with a 6-1 away win against African Dream Team at the Caribbean Sports CLub. Matthew Hunter with an hat-trick put the Dream Team to the sword in their first game since relegation.

Woodhouse JFC are also newcomers to the league, and enterred in equal style, as they put seven past Norton Oaks B. Andrew Gascoigne (hat-trick), Adam Wragg, Adam Rudge, Daniel Mackenzie and Henry Bradshaw-Smith got the goals as they run out 7-2 winners.

At the Springs Academy, Daniel Green and Kieron Rodgers both scored to twice to help Carlton Social to a solid start to life in the Meadowhall League. They came out comfortalbe 5-1 winners against FC Darnall.

Barrel Inn (formerly Birley Moor News) recorded a good 5-2 away win over the Staffordshire Arms. Sean Flowers (2), Andy Nicol (2) and Chris Hirst with the goals for the Barrel.

Under 21 Division Round-up 4/9

The opening weeken of the new Under 21 Division played host to only one fixture. This was between Norton Oaks U21's and Dronfield Town. Dronfield Town took the first three points available with an emphatic 7-1 win. John Pugh starred with an excellent hat-trick.
