Further Postponements

Once again, all fixtures in the Meadowhall League were postponed today (Sunday 27th January).

Postponements

Unsurprisingly, due to the adverse weather conditions all games in the Meadowhall League have been postponed for Sunday 20th January. Hopefully, the freezing conditions will ease and we can get back to schedule next week.

Round-up 13-1


League Cup 2nd Round
John Pugh proved to be the difference in the all U21 Division affair between Hackenthorpe Warriors U21's and Dronfield Town U21's. Pugh was on target twice for Dronfield as they took the tie 3-2.

Arundel were big 12-2 winners over Greasborough U21's. Dominic Naughton scored four goals and Shaun Martin grabbed a hat-trick in a convincing win for the Division One outfit.

20 year old Ben Putland scored two goals for Woodhouse Juniors FC, as they beat in-form Bystrany Sheffield 4-3 at Handsworth Grange School.

Tinsley Trophy 2nd Round
Ben Gelsthorpe socred five goals to inspired Jack-in-a-Box to a 6-2 win over Norton Athletic at Davy Sports Club.

Arbourthorne EA extended their unbeaten start to the season, with a convincing 6-1 away win over Division Two's Hurlfield. Veteran marksman Liam Cartledge was on target once again for Arbourthorne, this time with two goals.

Penistone Church were 5-1 away winners over Wadsley FC at Niagra Sports Club. Tim Council was in fine form for Penistone Church, with two goals by his name.

Winn Gardens edged-out SWD 2-1 away at the Sheffield Works Department Ground. Lee Mullen scored both of the goals for Winn Gardens.

Premier Division
Greenhill White Hart were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Royal Earl. It is the second successive league draw for Royal Earl, who remain winless in the league for six games.

Wadsley Bridge WMC move into third place, with a 2-1 away win over Packhorse Inn. Wadsley are eight games unbeaten in the league, and four points off Crookes' lead.

22 year old Joseph Highfield scored a hat-trick for Brunsmeer Abbey AJW, as they beat Hackenthorpe A 7-3 in an exciting game at the HSBC Sports Club.

Division One
Rawson Spring beat Hackenthorpe B 2-1 at home to Civil Service Ground. The win takes Rawson Spring into third place, above Hackenthorpe.

Division Two
League leaders City Taxis (Stradbroke) lost their first league games of the season, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Hackenthorpe Villa. Daryl Hall and Francis Donaghey grabbed the goals for Hackenthorpe, as they remain in third place.

U21 Division
League leaders Sheffield FC U21's beat Crosspool Juniors U21's 14-0 at Gosforth Fields. Deakin scored seven of the goals in a fine performance. Sheffield now sit eight points clear of second placed Dronfield Town U21's.

Throstles U21's ended a run of back-to-back league defeats with a 5-0 away win over Swallownest U21's. The win takes Throstles into third place.

Woodhouse Juniors U21's registered their first league win since November, as they beat Sharrow United U21's 3-1 at Flockton Park.

6/1 Round-up


S&HCFA Senior Cup 5th Round
Hackenthorpe A continued their excellent form, with an after extra-time 3-2 win over New Keppel.

League Cup 2nd Round
Penalties from Danny Reet and Liam Cartledge gave Arbourthorne EA a 2-1 win over Premier Division High Noon. Arbourthorne remain undefeated in all competitions this season.

Alex Lill scored twice for Mosborough B has they put behind them their poor recent league form, by beating Woodhouse JFC U21's 5-1 at Mosborough Miners Welfare.

Tinsley Trophy 3rd Round
Second Division Bystrany Sheffield claimed a First Division scalp, as they beat HSBC 3-0 on penalties. The score was 3-3 after extra-time.

Division Two leaders City Taxis (Stradbroke) carried the good form into the cup, with a 4-3 win over Intake Ball Inn after extra-time.

Scott Ruthven and Daniel Jenkinson both scored twice to give Hackenthorpe B a 4-2 win over Hackenthorpe Villa at Reignhead Farm.

Premier Division
Paul Clements scored twice, once from the spot, to help Crookes a 2-1 win over Arundel at Frecheville Sports & Social Club. Crookes climb into first place with the win.

Handswoth Turf Tavern gave up first position, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Greenhill White Hart at Warminster Road.

Packhorse Inn made it back-to-back league wins for the first time this season, as they beat Brunsmeer Abbey AJW 4-2 at HSBC Sports Club.

Royal Earl were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wadsley Bridge WMC. Royal Earl are now five league games without-a-win.

Division One
Winn Gardens climbed to the top of the First Division with a 2-1 win over Jack-in-a-Box. Javid Heffernan and Rayon Ramsey scored the goals for Winn Gardens.

Penistone Church played out their second successive 3-3 draw. This time they were held by Ridgeway Athletic at Ridgeway Sports & Social Club.

Division Two
Wesley Hewitt scored for SWD to give them a 4-2 win over Norton Athletic at handsworth Grange School. SWD are now unbeaten in five league games, three of those were drawn.

U21 Division
Harry Liver scored a hat-trick to help league leaders Sheffield FC U21's to a 8-1 away win over Hollinsend U21's. Their lead now sits at five points.

16 year old Callum Mallinson grabbed a brace for Dronfield Town U21's, in their 4-1 win over Throstles U21's at Gosforth Fields.

Third placed Greasborough U21's won convincingly, 12-1 over Swallownest U21's at Roughwood Fields.

Swinton Spartans U21's made it four wins out of five games in the league, with an exciting 6-4 home win over Hackenthorpe Warriors U21's.

Sharrow Unted U21's edged out Abbey Lane U21's 3-2 at the Boundary Sports & Social Club. The win takes them above Hollinsend U21's and into ninth.
