Semi-Final Sunday!

Just a quick reminder to let you know that the League Cup Semi-Final Rawson Spring and Packhorse Inn takes place this Sunday. The game is an 11am kick-off at Sandygate, Hallam FC.

That's not all; with the Tinsley Trophy Semi-Final between City Taxis (Stradbroke) and Winn Gardens taking place at the same time at HSBC Sports Club.

Just when you thought that was it, it isn't. There is also the Under 21 League Cup Semi-Final between Woodhouse JFC U21's and Dronfield Town U21's at Flockton Park. Again it is an 11am kick-off.

S&HCFA Junior Cup Semi-Final

Hurlfield were unlucky in their Semi-Final with the Pewter Pot. The game ended 3-3 after 90 minutes, but they were eventually beaten 4-3 after extra-time.

Tinsley Trophy Quarter-Final

Arbourthorne EA were 2-1 winners over Jack-in-a-Box at Warminster Road. The decisive goals for Arbourthorne came from Steven Brammer and John Harrison. Arbourthorne will now face the winners of Hackenthorpe B v Rawson Spring in the Semi-Final.

Under 21 League Cup Semi-Final

Sheffield FC U21’s are the first team through to the U21 Cup Final, after they beat Greasborough U21’s 5-4 at Roughwood Fields.

Premier Division

Royal Earl held second placed Crookes to a 1-1 draw at Warminster Road. Royal Earl have drawn three of their last four league games 1-1.

21 year old Aaron Moxam scored twice to inspire Brunsmeer Abbey to a 4-1 win over Arundel at HSBC Sports Club. Brunsmeer have won three of their last four league games.

Division One

League leaders Penistone Church were held to a 1-1 draw at home by mid-table Intake Ball Inn at the Memorial Ground. However, the point does extend Penistone’s at the top to three points.

Rawson Spring were the big winners in Division One, beating Ridgeway Athletic 9-1 away from home. James Middleton and John Langley both scored hat-tricks as Rawson Spring were emphatic winners.

Liam Morris scored twice, once from the spot, to help HSBC to a 3-1 home win over Winn Gardens. The win is enough to carry HSBC off the bottom and above Ridgeway Athletic.

Division Two

Abbey Lane U21’s edged-out Crosspool Juniors U21’s 6-4 at Limb Lane. Abbey Lane have scored six on three separate occasions in the league this season, and climb into fourth place.

Woodhouse Juniors FC were 4-0 winners over Swinton Spartans U21’s at Swinton Comprehensive School. Woodhouse remain third, just four points back from second placed Throstles U21’s.

Due to bad weather only two games went ahead this weekend.

Firstly, Keith Eaton scored twice to help Hackenthorpe B to a 4-2 win over Woodhouse JFC at Reignhead Farm. The win is Hackenthorpe's first in the league since Sunday 9th December.

Throstles U21's and and Greasborough U21's were also in action at Sheffield Park Academy in the U21 Division. Throstles took the games 3-1 with Perry Jackson on target twice for them. The win helps Throstles consolidate second place, and leaves them six points off Sheffield FC U21's lead.

League Cup Quarter-finals

Arbourthorne EA suffered their first defeat of the season, as they were beaten 2-1 at Thorncliffe Playing Fields by Packhorse Inn. Packhorse Inn currently sit bottom of the Premier Division, but will hope that their cup form can be transferred to their league competition.

Last years’ Tinsley Trophy winners Rawson Spring beat Dronfield Town U21’s 3-1 at Gosforth Fields.

20 year old Nathan Tankard scored twice for Wadsley Bridge WMC to help inspire them to a 4-2 win over HSBC at Chaucer Sports Centre.

Tinsley Trophy Quarter-final

City Taxis (Stradbroke) beat Bystrany Sheffield 6-1 in an all Division Two quarter-final at HSBC Sports Club. City Taxis will now face Winn Gardens in the semi-final on the 31^st March.

Premier Division

Handsworth Turf Tavern made it three straight wins with a narrow 2-1 away win over Arundel. The win keeps Handsworth top by a point.

Joel Purkiss scored the only goal as Crookes beat Greenhill White Hart at Warminster Road. Crookes are only a point off the lead with a game spare.

Hackenthorpe A registered a second consecutive 1-1 draw, this time with Sharrow United at Warminster Road.

Division One

Penistone Church are the new leaders in Division One, following their 4-0 victory over Ridgeway Athletic. Arbourthorne EA drop to second, two points behind with a two games in hand.

Jack-in-a-Box extended their unbeaten league run to five matches, with a 2-2 draw with Woodhouse JFC at Handsworth Grange School. The point takes Jack-in-a-Box into fourth place.

Division Two

Hurlfield climbed to the summit of the Second Division, with a 5-3 win over Hackenthorpe Villa at the SWD Ground.

James Marshall scored a hat-trick for SWD, as they ran-out 8-0 over Norton Athletic at the SWD Ground.

20 year old Bradley Leeming scored the only goal, as Wadsley FC beat Cricketers 2012 at Niagra Sports Club. The win takes Wadlsey off the bottom and above Cricketers.

U21 Division

Sheffield FC U21’s made it seven straight league wins , with a 3-2 win over Abbey Lane U21’s. They are now nine points clear at the top of the league.

Second placed Throstles U21’s beat Crosspool Juniors U21’s 3-0 at Limb Lane. Mitchell Forster scored a brace in that match.

Sharrow United lost 6-1 last week to Hollinsend U21’s, but this week they were the winners. They beat Hackenthorpe Warriors U21’s 6-1 at Waterthorpe Playing Fields.

Woodhouse JFC U21’s registered their third win in four league games, as they beat Hollinsend U21’s 5-1 at Flockton Park. Woodhouse remain third, just four points shy of second.

Daniel Archer and Reece Bennett got the goals for Greasborough U21’s, as they beat Swinton Spartans U21’s 2-0 at Roughwood Fields.

League Cup 3^rd Round

Rawson Spring were convincing 8-1 winners over Division Two’s Mosborough B at the Civil Service Ground. The win takes Rawson Spring into the Quarter-finals. They will face Dronfield Town U21’s next week.

Under 21 League Cup

Greasborough U21’s defeated Hackenthorpe Warriors U21’s 8-5 in the Second Round of the Under 21 League Cup. Daniel Jones starred for Greasborough, scoring a hat-trick. Greasborough will take on Under 21 Division League leaders Sheffield FC U21’s in the Semi-finals on Sunday 17^th March.

Premier Division

Matthew Ellis scored the only goal, as Handsworth Turf Tavern beat Sharrow United at Davy Sports Club. The Turf Tavern climbed back to the top of the Premier Division, as last weeks’ leaders Crookes were held to a 1-1 draw by Hackenthorpe A.

Royal Earl won their first league game since September. They were emphatic 4-1 winners over Brunsmeer Abbey AJW at HSBC Sports Club. The win lists them into fourth bottom position.

Arundel were also back to winning ways. They were 4-0 winners over Packhorse Inn at Frecheville Sports & Social Club.

Sam Read scored twice for Greenhill White Hart to help them to a 4-1 home win over Wadsley Bridge WMC. The defeat is Wadsley Bridge’s first in the league since Sunday 9^th September.

Division One

Arbourthorne EA were in league action for the first time since November on Sunday, due to their cup commitments and poor weather. They beat Hackenthorpe B 3-1 away from home to take back top spot.

It was first versus third at Meadowhall Soccer School, with Winn Gardens taking on Penistone Church. Three goals from Daniel Howes helped settle the game 7-3 in Penistone’s favour, and in the process takes them into second place.

Intake Ball Inn ended a run of three straight league defeats, with 4-2 victory over HSBC at Warminster Road.

David Gelsthorpe struck three times for Jack-in-a-Box, as they beat Ridgeway Athletic 5-2 at Davy Sports Club. The win is Jack-in-a-Box’s fourth-in-a-row in the league.

Division Two

Bystrany Sheffield kept up their good recent form, as they held second placed Hurlfield to a 3-3 draw at the Civil Service Ground. Bystrany are unbeaten in the league since September, and lie in third position.

Norton Athletic registered a second consecutive win. This time it came with a 4-3 win over Wadlsey FC at Handsworth Grange School.

Delroy Robinson scored both goals for Cricketers 2012 in their 2-1 win over SWD. The win is enough to take SWD off the bottom and above Wadlsey FC.

Under 21 Division

There were three games in the Under 21 Division and three 6-1 wins/losses.

Three goals from Mitchell Forster for Throstles U21’s in their 6-1 away win over Swinton Spartans U21’s. The win takes Throstles into second place behind leaders Sheffield FC U21’s.

Ryan Smith fired a hat-trick for Woodhouse JFC U21’s, as they beat Swallownest U21’s 6-1 at Flockton Park.

Hollinsend U21’s made it three straight victories. They followed up last weeks’ 7-0 win over Crosspool Juniors U21’s, with a 6-1 win over Sharrow United U21’s. They sit in fourth, only two points off second place.

S&HCFA Senior Cup Quarter Final

Hackenthorpe A were unlucky in the S&HCFA were unlucky against Athersley Recreation. They held Athersley to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes, but were beaten 5-4 on penalties.

League Cup 3rd Round

21 year old Jordan Livett was the star on show at Chaucer Sports Centre. He scored four goals for Wadsley Bridge WMC, as they beat Throstles U21’s 5-2 to progress to the Quarter Final stage.

Arbourthorne EA took the scalp of Premier Division Royal Earl for the second time in three weeks. They beat them 2-1 in Senior Cup at Warminster Road. This time it was exactly the same, as they won 2-1 in the League Cup. Arbourthorne have had an excellent season thus far, and remain undefeated in all competitions.

Premier Division

Brunsmeer Abbey AJW claimed the result of the day, as they beat Premier Division leaders Crookes 4-0 at Warminster Road. The loss for Crookes ends a run of five straight league wins for them.

Handsworth Turf Tavern took advantage of Crookes’ slip to close the gap at the top of the division to just a single point. A Paul Turner hat-trick helped Handsworth to a 6-0 win over Packhorse Inn at Thorncliffe Playing Fields.

Michael Kay and Danny Milner were both on target for Greenhill White Hart, as they beat Sharrow United 2-0 at Warminster Road.

High Noon continued their renaissance with a 2-2 draw at home with Arundel. They are now three games unbeaten in the league, and have put two points between them and bottom side Packhorse Inn.

Division One

Hackethorpe B held league leaders Winn Gardens to an entertaining 3-3 draw at Reignhead Farm. However, Winn Gardens remain top by two points, but have player six games more than second placed Arbourthorne EA.

Penistone Church were in fine striking form as they beat HSBC 6-1 at the Memorial Ground. Tom Eaton scored a hat-trick and Tim Council registered a brace for the hosts. Penistone Church are now five games unbeaten.

Karl Fox scored a hat-trick for Jack-in-a-Box, as they beat Ridgeway Athletic 7-0 away from home. Jack-in-a-Box have won their last three league games.

Division Two

Mitch Savage scored four goals for Hurlfield to inspire them to a 7-1 away win over SWD. The win takes Hurlfield within three points of leaders City Taxis (Stradbroke) with a game spare.

U21 Division

Swinton Spartans U21’s edged out Greasborough U21’s 5-4 in a thriller at Swinton Comprehensive School. The win takes Swinton into a comfortable mid-table position.

Hollinsend U21’s recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season, with an impressive 7-0 away win over Crosspool Juniors U21’s.

Sharrow United U21’s heaped more woe on struggling Swallownest, by defeating them 4-0 at Burgoyne Park.

Matthew Megson scored the only goal at Flockton Park, as Abbey Lane U21’s beat Woodhouse JFC U21’s.
