League Cup Round-up 6/3

Round Two
A Liam Morris hat-trick helped Division One side HSBC knock out Premier League Crookes 3-2 at Warminster Road.

Pheasant Inn also booked a place in the Quarter-Finals with a 3-1 away win over Division Two side City Taxis.

Pheasant Inn will host Arbourthorne EA A with HSBC travelling to the Royal Earl in the Quarter-Finals next week.

A Russell Hobson brace could not prevent Handsworth Turf Taver slipping out of the cup to Division One high flyers Brunsmeer Abbey. Joseph Highfiled got all three for Brunsmeer

In an all Divison One affair Beighton Magpies edged out Wadsley Bridge 2-1 to claim their place in the Semi-Finals.

Premier Division Round-up 6/3

Four goals from Liam Cartledge helped Arbourthorne EA A to a 7-0 away win over Arundel. The win is Arbourthorne's fifth win in six. Significantly, the one loss came against Royal Earl last time out.

A Ashley Burbeary brace inspired leaders Royal Earl to a 2-1 victory over Sharrow United. Bjorn Taylor got the goal for Sharrow who made it difficult for the run away leaders. Royal Earl's lead at the top remains at 12 points.

Mosborough A won at home for the second Sunday running, 2-0 against Chapeltown Cue Ball. Steven Hancock and Matthew Ellis with the goals for Mosborough who climbed above Packhorse Inn into 8th.

Division One Round-up 6/3

With the top two in cup action, Greenhill White Hart took the opportunity to go joint top with High Noon. Goals from John Pedder, Joel Purkiss and Christopher Lees helped them to a 3-1 victory over AFC Gardens at Warminster Road.

Four goals from Lee Brunt helped Intake Ball Inn to a 4-3 win over bottom side Wincobank. Mark Cupitt and David Gilchrist (2) got the goals for Wincobank. The result pushes Intake Ball Inn into third place and only a point behind the leaders High Noon.

Division Two Round-up 6/3

Leaders Jack-in-a-Box strengthened their position at the top with a hard fought 4-2 away win against the African Dream Team. Jack-in-a-Box's lead now stands at four points as Penistone Church could only manage a 2-2 draw at home to Ridgeway Athletic. Daniel Howes and Timothy Council with the goals for Penistone, with Joe Charlesworth and Ashden Morley on target for Ridgeway.

Arbourthorne EA B leapfrogged Jack-in-a-Box into second on goal difference after their impressive 6-2 defeat of Harrow Grenoside at Parson's Cross Park.

Division Three Round-up 6/3

Sunday was a very busy day in the Meadowhall League with 34 teams in action.

In Division Three, Heeley made it ten wins for the season with a emphatic 12-1 away victory over FC Darnall. Daniel Harriot got four goals for Heeley. Andrew Kitson and Jamie Major also recorded trebles for leaders.

Richard Firth inspired second-placed Ecclesfield to their fifth win in six, as they beat Staffordshire Arms 6-0 at Middlewood Park. The win win keeps the pressure on leaders Heeley who are one point clear at the top.

Rawson Spring climbed into third place with a 3-1 away win against Sharrow Vale. Jordan Wasden, James Middleton and David Cutts for Rawson Spring. James Eccles got the reply for Sharrow.

Elsewhere, Hackenthorpe B slipped to a 2-1 away defeat against Handsworth Social. The win puts a spanner in the works of Hackenthorpe's title challenge, as they slipped into fourth place. Francis Donaghey notched his 11th goal of the season for Handsworth.

League Cup

Handsworth Turf Tavern progressed in the League cup with a 3-1 win over Division Two team Ridgeway Athletic. They will now play Division One high flers Brunsmeer Abbey in the Quarter-final next weekend.

Tinsley Trophy

Divison Three leaders Ecclesfield WMC knocked out Division Two side Norton Oakes at Warminster Road. Paul Dawson got the only goal of the tight contest.

The all Division Three tie between Sharrow Vale and Hackenthorpe ended with Sharrow winning 4-2. Sharrow lost the league match between the two 8-4 at the turn of the year. Richard Cooper grabbed a brace this time round.

Ecclesfield will now host Division Two leaders Jack-in-a-Box and Sharrow Vale travel to the rejuvenated Mosborough B in the Quarter-Final. Both ties take place on the 13th March.
