It was a quieter than usual week in the Meadowhall league with only six fixtures taking place on Sunday.
League Cup 2nd Round
Ex-Arbourthorne EA striker Liam Cartledge put in a vintage performance for Crookes on Sunday, scoring four times to help his team to a emphatic 6-0 away win over Mosborough U21. Crookes now face the prospect of an away tie against Royal Earl in a couple of weeks time.
League Cup 3rd Round
The Devonshire fought hard to beat Arundel 2-1 at HSBC Sports Club. Devonshire will host Division One's Jack-in-a-Box in the Quarter-Final stage next weekend.
Tinsley Trophy 3rd Round
Penistone Church marksman Tim Council proved to be the difference was more for them on Sunday. He scored both goals in their 2-0 away win over HSBC. Penistone will be glad of their extended cup run, as it provides a welcome distraction from their disappointing league form. Penistone will play high-flyers High Noon in the Semi-Finals next week.
Premier Division
Rawson Spring moved six points clear at the top of the Premier Division, with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Wadsley Bridge WMC at Chaucer Sports Centre. Bradley Torr for the league leaders as they maintained their unbeaten league record, which now stands at a whopping 12 games.
Division One
Jack-in-a-Box warmed up for next weeks' League Cup Quarter-Final with a 3-2 away win over struggling Intake Ball Inn. David Gelsthorpe scored all three goals for Jack-in-a-Box.
Mid-table City Taxis extended their unbeaten run to four games, with a 3-1 win over Packhorse Inn at HSBC Sports Club. Jordan Marshall (2 - once from the penalty spot) and Nicky Young bagged the goals for City Taxis.
