League Cup 3^rd Round

Crookes secured their place in the League Cup Quarter-Finals with a 2-1 win over Royal Earl at Warminster Road. They will face Brunsmeer U21 in the Quarter-Finals next weekend.

U21 Division Cup

U21 Division leaders Sheffield United Juniors Blades U21 claimed their place in the final of the U21 Division Cup, with a 5-2 home win over Sharrow United U21.

Mosborough U21 will face Abbey Lane U21 in the Semi-Finals, following their 2-1 home win over Brampton Dynamos U21. Mosborough’s win comes as a little surprise, as they currently trail Brampton by 15 points in the league.

Premier Division

Rawson Spring’s run unbeaten continued on Sunday, with a hard-fought 2-1 away win over Brunsmeer Abbey AJW. Rawson are now seven points clear at the top of the Premier Division, and have still not lost this season in the league.

Second place Handsworth Turf Tavern were 4-0 winners against a struggling Wadsley Bridge WMC side at Davy Sports Club.

Hackenthorpe A claimed their third consecutive win, with a 1-0 victory over Arundel at Swallownest Miners Welfare Ground. Hackenthorpe are now in third place in the league, nine points off the pace with two games in hand.

The Devonshire were remarkable 21-0 winners over Sharrow United at Warminster Road. The Devonshire sit in fith position, three points off second, with a now far superior goal difference.

Division One

The top two met at the SWD Ground, with league leaders Hurlfield and second placed High Noon. After 90 minutes the two switched league positions, with High Noon coming out comprehensive 7-2 winners. High Noon now lead the table by two points.

Packhorse Inn leapfrogged Hackenthorpe B into third place, by beating them 2-1 at Thorncliffe Playing Fields. Packhorse are only three points  behind High Noon, but have played two games more.

Jack-in-a-Box registered their third win in four league games, with a comfortable 4-0 away win over HSBC.

Tim Council scored four times as Penistone Church beat Intake Ball Inn 11-1 at the Memorial Ground. The win puts three points between Penistone and bottom-of-the-table Intake.

Division Two

There was just one game in the Second Division, Woodhouse JFC reinforced their third placed position with a 4-0 win over winless Wadsley FC. Woodhouse are three points behind leaders Mosborough, but have played a game more.

U21 Division

Adam Hague and Evan Watson both scored twice to help Wisewood Hounds U21 to a 5-0 victory over Swallownest U21 at Parsons Cross Park. The win takes Wisewood into sixth place in the table.

Crosspool U21 won their first league game since Sunday 8^th December, beating Hackenthorpe Warriors U21 4-0 at Whirlow Playing Fields. Thomas Oakes claimed the match ball scoring a hat-trick.

S&HCFA Sunday Senior Cup Semi-Final

Premier Division leaders Rawson Spring sealed their place in the Sunday Senior Cup final, with a 3-1 win over Crookes at the Civil Service Ground. Rawson Spring will play in the Final at Bramall Lane against Joker FC, who beat Wombwell Main 7-0 in their Semi-Final

S&HCFA Sunday Junior Cup Semi-Final

Meadowhall league interest in this years’ Junior Cup was ended, as Woodhouse Juniors succombed to a 4-2 defeat to Southey Social at Handsworth Grange School.

League Cup Quarter-Finals

Division One leaders Hurlfield put up a great effort against Premier Division high-flyers Brunsmeer Abbey AJW at the SWD Ground, as they were downed 4-2.

The Devonshire also beat First Division opposition in the form of Jack-in-a-Box, who they beat 5-2 at Warminster Road.

Tinsley Trophy Semi-Final

Penistone Church put their struggling league form behind them, as they overcame High Noon 3-1 at the Memorial Ground to reach the Tonsley Trophy Final. They will face either Packhorse Inn or Jack-in-a-Box in the final.

Premier Division

Arundel made it four straight wins, with a emphatic 5-1 home win over Wadsley Bridge WMC. The win takes them into fifth place, only two points shy of second placed Brunsmeer Abbey.

Ashley Longstaff scored both goals as Hackenthorpe A secured a 2-0 away win over third placed Handsworth Turf Tavern.

Division One

Lee Jenkinson scored three times, twice from the penalty spot to help Hackenthorpe B to a 4-2 win over Concord at Swallownest Miners Welfare Ground. Hackenthorpe retain third position with the win, only one point behind league leaders Hurlfield who have played a game less.

City Taxis extended their unbeaten run to five games with an impressive 2-2 away draw against Packhorse Inn.

Division Two

The top two met at Ridgeway Sports and Social Club, with second placed Ridgeway hosting leaders Mosborough. There was no winner in the end, with the spoils shared following a 1-1 draw.

Both Wesley Hewitt and Brandon Wilde scored hat-tricks for SWD in their 8-0 home win over struggling Wadsley.

U21 Division

Third placed Abbey Lane U21 closed the gap between them and second placed Brampton Dynamos U21 to one point, by beating their rivals 3-1 at Wales High School.

Hackenthorpe Warriors U21’s renaissance continued as they beat Wisewood Hounds U21 3-0 at Waterthorpe Playing Fields. Hackenthorpe were winless three games ago, but now have won three games consecutively.

Brunsmeer U21 made it three wins from four gmaes played, with a 6-1 away win over Swallownest U21. Brunsmeer remain in fourth place.

Mosborough U21 shared the points with Crosspool U21, as they drew 3-3 at Mosborough Miners Welfare. Crosspool are winless in eight games.

It was a quieter than usual week in the Meadowhall league with only six fixtures taking place on Sunday.

League Cup 2nd Round
Ex-Arbourthorne EA striker Liam Cartledge put in a vintage performance for Crookes on Sunday, scoring four times to help his team to a emphatic 6-0 away win over Mosborough U21. Crookes now face the prospect of an away tie against Royal Earl in a couple of weeks time.

League Cup 3rd Round
The Devonshire fought hard to beat Arundel 2-1 at HSBC Sports Club. Devonshire will host Division One's Jack-in-a-Box in the Quarter-Final stage next weekend.

Tinsley Trophy 3rd Round
Penistone Church marksman Tim Council proved to be the difference was more for them on Sunday. He scored both goals in their 2-0 away win over HSBC. Penistone will be glad of their extended cup run, as it provides a welcome distraction from their disappointing league form. Penistone will play high-flyers High Noon in the Semi-Finals next week.

Premier Division
Rawson Spring moved six points clear at the top of the Premier Division, with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Wadsley Bridge WMC at Chaucer Sports Centre. Bradley Torr for the league leaders as they maintained their unbeaten league record, which now stands at a whopping 12 games.

Division One
Jack-in-a-Box warmed up for next weeks' League Cup Quarter-Final with a 3-2 away win over struggling Intake Ball Inn. David Gelsthorpe scored all three goals for Jack-in-a-Box.

Mid-table City Taxis extended their unbeaten run to four games, with a 3-1 win over Packhorse Inn at HSBC Sports Club. Jordan Marshall (2 - once from the penalty spot) and Nicky Young bagged the goals for City Taxis.

S&HCFA Senior Cup Quarter-Final

The Devonshire’s Senior Cup run came to an end on Sunday with a 2-1 against Wombwell Main at Warminster Road.

League Cup 3^rd Round

Brunsmeer Abbey AJW of the Premier Division took on Penistone Church of Division One at HSBC Sports Club. Brunsmeer’s superior league position showed in the end, as they came out comfortable 9-2 winners. Brunsmeer will travel to face Division One leaders Hurlfield in the next round in a couple of weeks.

Tinsley Trophy Quarter-Finals

Adam Dickinson scored twice for High Noon, as they claimed a 3-0 away win over Intake Ball Inn.

18 year old Niall Smith scored the only goal for Packhorse Inn in their 1-0 home win over SWD. Packhorse will play Jack-in-a-Box in their Semi-Final in early April.

U21 League Cup Quarter-Final

Sharrow United U21 were 4-1 winners against Hackenthorpe Warriors U21 at Waterthorpe Playing Fields. Sharrow’s win will be rewarded with a Semi-Final tie against U21 Division leaders Sheffield United Juniors Blades U21 on March 23^rd.

Premier Division

Rawson Spring kept their unbeaten league season going with a 3-2 home win over Handsworth Turf Tavern. 22 year old Andrew Gascoigne scored all three goals for the league leaders, as they went three points clear at the top.

Arundel made it three consecutive wins, with a 4-1 win over Sharrow United at Warminster Road.

Royal Earl were looking to bounce back fromm two straight losses, as they travelled to bottom-0f-the-league Wadsley Bridge WMC. However, Royal Earl could only manage a point as they drew 1-1.

Division One

Hurlfield climbed to the summit of the First Division, with an impressive 7-1 home win over HSBC. Kyle Emmett and Ryan Morris were both on target twice for Hurlfield, as they go one point clear of rivals High Noon, who have three games in hand.

Hackenthorpe B played their first league game since mid-December, and they looked well for the rest beating Jack-in-a-Box 2-0 at Davy Sports Club. Hackenthorpe have won five of their last six league games.

Division Two

Mosborough made it six leagues games on the bounce with a 6-4 win over Wadsley at Niagra Sport Club. The win takes Mosborough to the top of Division Two, a point clear of Ridgeway Athletic.

Goals from Henry Bradshaw-Smith and Aaron Hatfield gave Woodhouse JFC a 2-0 win over Bystrany Sheffield.

U21 Division

Sheffield United Junior Blades U21 march on at the top of the U21 Division. They were comfortable 6-1 winners over Double Top U21 at Halfway Junior School. The Blades are now 19 points clear.

Brunsmeer FC U21 and Brampton Dynamos U21 shared 11 goals in a thriller at Dore Playing Fields. The game fell in Brampton’s favour though, as they took the points with a 6-5 win. The win helps Brampton consolidate their four point lead over third placed Abbey Lane U21. Abbey Lane were also winners on Sunday, beating Wisewood Hounds U21 3-0 at Parson’s Cross Park.

This week saw a focus on cup competition, caused a by a small backlog due to recent postponements.

S&HCFA Senior Cup Quarter-Final

Crookes moved into the Senior Cup Semi-Finals, with a 3-1 away win over fellow Meadowhall side Wadsley Bridge WMC.  Crookes will play Premier Division leaders Rawson Spring in the Semi-Finals, guaranteeing Meadowhall League representation in the final.

S&HCFA Junior Cup Quarter-Final

Woodhouse JFC claimed a hard-fought 2-0 away win over Sportsman New Boys. Woodhouse will host Southey Social Club in the Semi-Finals.

League Cup 2^nd Round

Nick Owen scored four times to help The Devonshire to a thrilling 5-4 win over High Noon of Division One at Davy Sports Club.The Devonshire will host Jack-in-a-Box in the next round.

League Cup Quarter-Final

Extra-time was needed to separate Handsworth Turf Tavern and Hackenthorpe A at Davy Sports Club. It was 1-1 after 90 minutes, but Handsworth scored a second goal in extra-time to proceed to the Semi-Finals.

Tinsley Trophy 2^nd Round

Craig Hine, Matt Hemsley and Martyn Cooper were all on the score-sheet for HSBC to give them a 3-0 away win over Concord. HSBC will play Penistone Church in the Semi-Finals.

Tinsley Trophy Quarter-Final

Jack-in-a-Box od Division One knocked Division Two leaders Ridgeway Athletic out of the cup, with a 3-1 win at Ridgeway Sports and Social Club. HSBC will play Packhorse Inn or SWD in the Semi-Finals. Packhorse take on SWD next Sunday.

U21 League Cup Quarter-Final

Sheffield United Junior Blades U21 exercised their league current league dominance in the cup on Sunday, with a 2-0 away win over Double Top U21.

Premier Division

Rawson Spring climbed back to the top of the Premier Division with a 4-2 win over Royal Earl at the Civil Service Ground. The win maintains Rawson’s unbeaten run in the league to 10 games, and leaves them top over Brunsmeer Abbey AJW on goal difference.

Dominic Naughton scored twice for Arundel to help them to a 3-2 home win over Sharrow United. The win is enough to take Arundel above Sharrow United and into eighth place.

Division One

Ryan Ducker scored four times, as Hurlfield beat Penistone Church 8-3 at the SWD Ground. The win helps Hurlfield keep the pressure on league leaders High Noon, who they trail by just two points.

Division Two

Mosborough extending their winning league run to five games, with a 3-1 home win over Cricketers 2012. Mosborough remain in second place, two points off leaders Ridgeway Athletic with a game spare.

U21 Division

Connor Ward scored the only goal as Hackenthorpe Warriors U21 registered an impressive win over third placed Abbey Lane U21 at the Boundary Club.

Brampton Dynamos U21 strengthened their second place position with their sixth straight victory. They were 5-2 winners over Crosspool U21 at Wales High School.

Round-up 16/2

Once again the majority of the scheduled games this weekend fell foul to the miserable weather, which has gripped our region so far this year. In the end only three games were played.

Premier Division
League leaders Brunsmeer Abbey AJW extended their winning league run to five games, as they beat Sharrow United 2-1 at Warminster Road. 23 year old Joe Highfield was on target twice for the in-form Brunsmeer.

The Handsworth Turf Tavern remain within a point of now league leaders Brunsmeer Abbey AJW, with a comfortable 4-1 win over previously first placed Royal Earl at Davy Sports Club. Handsworth have played a game more more than Brunsmeer, but still have to host them in the league.

Division One
Intake Ball Inn claimed only their second win of the season, with an impressive 3-1 home win over mid-table Concord. Sadly for Intake the three points were not enough to lift them form the bottom of the standings, as they have an inferior goal differential to that of Penistone Church. Penistone host Intake in early-March at the Memorial Ground.

Round-up 9/2

Once again only two games were played in Meadowhall League on Sunday, due to waterlogged pitches across the region.

In the U21 League Cup Quarter-Finals; Abbey Lane U21 were convincing 5-1 winners at Whirlow Playing Fields against Crosspool U21.

In Division Two, Bystrany Sheffield were 4-0 winners away against Cricketers 2012. The win is Bystrany's fourth-in-a-row in the league and lifts them to third place in the table.
