Sunday 2nd January saw the first Meadowhall League fixtures take place since November 21st. Still, however, the fixture was depleted by postponements.
In the league cup, Crookes defeated Division Three Penistone Church 6-2 to progress to the second round. An hattrick from Clements inspired the Premier Division club to a comfortable win.
Tinsley Trophy
Arbourthorne EA B secured their place in the second round of the Tinsley Trophy with a close fought 3-2 win over Harrow Grenoside at Parsons Cross park. Alexander Bastock, Shaun Tuton and Shane Stewart with the goals for the visitors.
Division Three Heeley gave Division Two leaders Jack-in-a-Box a run for their money at the SWD ground. The table toppers came out winners 5-3 with Mark West brace helping them on their way.
Division Three Mosborough B, however, provided the shock of the round with a 3-1 win over Division Two City Taxis. The impressive win follows on from two successive league wins over both FC Darnall and Sharrow Vale.
Division One
There was only one game played in Division One. A mid-table clash between the Pheasant Inn and AFC Gardens at Middlewood Park saw the hosts run out 2-1 winners. Craig Mawhood provided both goals for the Pheasant.
Divison Three
There were only two games played in Division Three but both were entretaining games with 20 goals shared between the teams.
Hackenthorpe B took advantage of a short fixture list by climbing to the top of the league with 8-4 win over mid-table Sharrow Vale. Ryan Cartwright provided a hattrick to help the hosts' cause.
Ecclesfield WMC followed up their previous 6-4 home win over Handsworth Social Club, by beating them 6-2 at their home place last weekend. Richard Firth scored four goals to help Ecclesfield climb into second place.
