Round-up 8/9

Premier Division
Royal Earl climbed back to the top of the early Premier Division table, with a 2-1 home win over Brunsmeer Abbey AJW at Warminster Road. Brunsmeer had had a good result midweek, when they beat Handsworth Turf Tavern 2-0 at HSBC Sports Club thanks to a brace from 21 year old Aaron Moxam.

Rawson Spring have been the biggest mover’s and shaker’s this week recording back-to-back wins. They just edged-out The Devnoshire 1-0 in Thursday night. They followed that with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Wadsley Bridge WMC.  Alex Torr scored both of the goals in the game, as Rawson climbed into second place.

Mitchell Ward-Cupitt scored the only goal as Hackenthorpe A continued their 100% record, with a 1-0 home win over Sharrow United.

Division One
Jack-in-a-Box displayed reinforced their good start on Saturday, with a comfortable 4-0 home win over HSBC at Davy Sports Club. Jack-in-a-Box have won all three of their games so far this season, a fact that makes them leaders of Division One. HSBC loss here was surprising following their impressive 4-1 win over Intake Ball Inn at home.

It was the Adam Dickinson show at the Memorial Ground on Sunday. Dickinson scored all four goals for the High Noon in their 4-0 win over Penistone Church. High Noon were also in action midweek, drawing 2-2 at home with the Packhorse Inn. They sit second in the table.

Concord bounced back from their opening defeat to Hurlfield, by beating City Taxis at the HSBC Sports Club.

Division Two
Ridgeway Athletic lead the way in Division Two with 10 points from their first four games. They edged-out Woodhouse West End 3-2 at the Stradbroke Recreation Ground on Thursday night, but dropped their first points of the season on Sunday when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to the SWD.

Woodhouse JFC sit in second place following two impressive wins this week. Two goals from Tom Bland inspired them to a 5-1 win over Cricketers 2012 on Thursday night.  They followed that on Sunday, with a 4-2 win over Bystrany Sheffield at Parson Cross Park. Bystrany Sheffield had won their first game of the season midweek with a 2-0 win over Wadsley FC.

Cricketers 2012 and Mosborough played out a 10 goal thriller at Springs Academy on Sunday. The game fell in a young Mosborough sides’ favour, as they won the game 6-4.

U21 Division
Mosborough U21 sit top of the U21 Division, but have a bit of a roller coaster of a week. They were beaten 8-3 at the hands of Abbey Lane U21 midweek, but more than made up for that defeat at the weekend, with a 7-0 win over Swinton Spartans U21.

Brampton Dynamos U21 followed their opening day 8-0 win over Sheffield Spartans U21, with an even more impressive 13-1 away win over Swallownest U21 at Burgoyne Park.

Sheffield United Juniors Blades U21 made it three wins from three on Sunday, beating Wisewood Hounds 4-2 at East End Park. They sit nicely in second place.

Brunsmeer FC U21 continued their 100% start, beating Double Top U21 3-0 at Halfway Junior School.

Crosspool U21 have also had a perfect start. Goals from Thomas Oakes, Jake Pearson and Huw Thomas gave them a 3-1 away win over Abbey Lane U21 at the Boundary Sports and Social Club.

A Dmitri White brace inspired Sharrow United U21 a 4-1 win over Hackenthorpe Warriors U21, and in the process help get them off the mark in the new season.
