Round-up 3/11

S&HCFA Senior Cup 3rd Round
There was only one Meadowhall team in action in the Senior Cup third round on Sunday. Premier Division leaders continued their good form with a 2-1 victory over Aughton Robin Hood at the Civil Service Ground. Both of Rawson’s goals were scored by James Middleton.

League Cup 2nd Round
Sheffield United Junior Blades U21 suffered their first loss of the season, as they were beaten 2-1 at Davy Sports Club by Jack-in-a-Box. David Gelsthorpe and Jamie Roper scored the crucial goals for Jack-in-a-Box.

Woodhouse JFC of the Second Division ran Division One outfit HSBC close. The two teams were level at 3-3 after 120 minutes, but HSBC won the game 4-3 on penalties.

Division Two leaders Ridgeway Athletic were beaten 5-2 at the SWD Ground by Hurlfield. 19 year old Kyle Emmott starred for Hurlfield scoring four times.

2011-12 winners Royal Earl progressed to round three with a 3-1 win over Mosborough at Warminster Road. Jamie Smith (2) and Daniel Wood scored the goals for the Earl.

Jordan Turner scored a hat-trick to help the Handsworth Turf Tavern to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Packhorse Inn at Thorncliffe Playing Fields.

SWD were big 7-0 winners at home to Wadsley. Brandon Wilde scored a hat-trick for the hosts to help them into round three.

Scott Ruthven notched a brace to help Brunsmeer Abbey AJW to a comfortable 3-0 win over Bystrany Sheffield at HSBC Sports Club. Steven Parry was also on target for Brunsmeer.

Brunsmeer U21 and Sharrow United U21 are second and third respectively in the U21 Division. Their similar league position was highlighted in their cup game on Sunday, won a close game 3-2.


Premier Division
There was just one Premier Division game, with Sharrow United travelling to Chaucer Sports Centre to face Wadsley Bridge WMC. Sharrow won the game 2-1 for their second league win of the season. Sharrow’s only previous league win came in the reverse fixture, which they won 8-1.

Division One
Ryan Armitage scored the only goal at HSBC Sports Club, as Hackenthorpe B beat City Taxis 1-0. The win takes Hackenthorpe’s unbeaten league streak to four games.

U21 Division

Crosspool U21 were 3-0 winners away at Burgoyne Park against Swallownest U21. Crosspool also won the reverse fixture 3-0 at the beginning of September.
