23/12 Round-up

With unsavoury weather hitting the South Yorkshire region there were a number of postponements on Sunday. In spite of this four games did go ahead at Olive Grove (SWD), the Niagra Sports Club, Meadowhall Soccer School and Gosforth Fields. The latter two venues play host to 3G pitches which remain unaffected by the extremities of the weather.

Division One
Delroy Williams was the star of the show, as they beat Woodhouse Juniors FC 4-1 at Meadowhall Soccer School.  Winn Gardens climb into second position with the win, only two points off leader Arbourthorne EA, who have four games spare.

Division Two
We were treat to a Christmas Cracker (excuse us) at Olive Grove, where second placed Hurlfield hosted league leaders City Taxis (Stradbroke). A frenetic game ended with the away team taking the points with a 6-5 win. 21 year old Jordan Marshall grabbed three of those for City Taxis, who now sit six points clear going into the winter break.

Bystrany Sheffield continued their recent run of good form, by beating Wadsley FC 5-2 at the Niagra Sports Club. Bystrany have won their last four league games and sit fourth, only outside third on goal differential.

U21 Division
Dronfield Town U21's made it back-to-back league wins for the first time since October, with a 4-2 home win over Abbey Lane U21's. John Pugh was on the score-sheet twice for Dronfield, as they cut Sheffield FC U21's lead to five points.
