Season's Greetings

This weekend's fixtures complete the first half of the season, or as the Germans call it 'the Hinrunde', with a short winter break over the festive and new year period. The league returns to action on Sunday 6th January.

It was an exctiting year in Meadowhall League. Hackenthorpe A claimed the Premier Division Championship all the way back in May. they currently sit third, with Handsworth Turf Tavern leading the way in this season's edition.

Brunsmeer Abbey AJW took the Division One title, building on the previous years' third place finish. They were promoted alongside Wadlsey Bridge WMC. Wadsley have adapted well to the Premier Division and sit in fourth after eight games. Arundel also bounced back to the Premier Division at the first time of asking, following relegation in 2011.

Rawson Spring dramatically took the Division Two championship on goal difference over Penistone Church. That was not the last those two teams heard of each other either. Rawson Spring narrowly beat Penistone Church in the Tinsley Trophy 1-0, thanks to a Jack Poulton strike.

Woodhouse Juniors FC won the Third Division title in their maiden season, by an emphatic 10 points.

Royal Earl closed the season on May 16th at Bramall Lane with a League Cup win. They beat Handsworth Turf Tavern 2-0 after extra-time to repeat the feat they achieved the previous year.

Finally, 2012 saw Dronfield Town U21's clinched the U21 Division title. They took the championship by five points over Sharrow United U21's as the league proved to be resounding success in its inaugural season.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone all the best for the festive season and we hope that 2013 is a good one for all.
