Premier Division

The door opened slightly in the title race, as league leaders Rawson Spring lost their first league game of the season., They were beaten 1-0 by Crookes, who lie third from the bottom in the standings.

Hackenthorpe A took advantage of Rawson’s slip, to move within six points of top spot, with two games spare. Hackenthorpe were 3-2 winners in an hard-fought game against Royal Earl at Swallownest Miners Ground. Hackenthorpe host Rawson Spring next Sunday.

Third placed Brunsmeer Abbey AJW have had a productive week. On Thursday night, they beat the aforementioned Crookes 3-1 at Warminster Road. They followed that up on Sunday with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Wadsley Bridge WMC.

Hat-tricks from Nick Owen and Sam Read gave The Devonshire a 6-0 home win over Arundel. The two sides only met last week in the reverse fixture, where Arundel took the spoils with a 3-1 win. Arundel were also in action on Thursday night, when they beat fourth placed Handsworth Turf Tavern 1-0 at Davy’s Sports Club

Division One

Packhorse Inn were impressive 4-0 winners against Penistone Church at Thorncliffe Playing Fields on Sunday. Packhorse remain in second place, but are now seven points off the leaders High Noon, with three games remaining.

City Taxis were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Jack-in-a-Box in a entertaining 2-2 draw.

Division Two

Second placed Mosborough hosted third placed SWD on Sunday, with both teams looking to put pressure on the leaders Woodhouse JFC. However, the game was a stalemate, ending 0-0. It leaves Mosborough two points off the pace, and SWD are four points behind with a game in hand. Woodhouse had climbed back to the summit on Thursday night, with a 4-0 win over Cricketers 2012 at Handsworth Grange School.

U21 Division

Brampton Dynamos U21 moved into second place in the table on Thursday night, with a 3-2 win over Hackenthorpe Warriors U21 at Wales High School. Brampton have won nine of their last 10 league games.

It has been an up-and-down week for Brunsmeer U21. They started the week on Tuesday, with an emphatic 10-0 win over Swallownest U21. Jack Lambert scored four of those goals, with Rowley Bland also contributing three to the cause. Next up was Sharrow United U21 on Thursday night. This time Brunsmeer lost narrowly 2-1. But the week was not over for Brunsmeer, as they travelled to Waterthorpe Playing Fields to take on Hackenthorpe Warriors U21. Despite Lambert featuring heavily again for Brunsmeer (scoring three times), they lost the game 4-3. Hackenthorpe did not win in the 2-13 part of this season, but have won five of the eight games they have played this calendar year.

Mohammed Abdi scored a brace as Sharrow United U21 beat Mosborough U21 3-2 in a mid-table clash on Sunday at Sheffield United’s Redtooth Academy. That loss came on the back of a 4-4 draw home against Double Top U21 on Thursday night. That draw ended a run of three straight defeats for the Double Top.
